Distribution week is your final opportunity to rent a cap and gown if you didn’t pre-order.
For students who did not pre-order, caps and gowns will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sizes may vary, and the higher rental fee will be charged.
Pick up your cap and gown December 16-20 at the IU Bookstore in the Indiana Memorial Union.
You must have a photo ID to pick up your apparel. If someone else is picking it up for you, they must have a copy of the receipt you received either in person or via email, and a note from you indicating they have your permission to pick up your cap and gown.
All apparel must be returned by 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, at Gladstein Fieldhouse. Failure to return the apparel may result in a penalty fee.
Gowns and hoods must be returned. Caps, tassels, and stoles are yours to keep.
Online orders for December Commencement 2019 will open early in the fall 2019 semester.
Caps and gowns also will be distributed in the robing and lineup area on the day of each ceremony. However, picking up apparel on the day of your ceremony should be a last resort. Time will be short, supplies will be limited, lines could potentially be long, and a late fee will be charged.
All rentals of Commencement apparel are final.
Note: Cap and gown orders are available only for the closest upcoming ceremony. Students intending to graduate in the spring may not order apparel in the fall. Any orders placed in the fall will not be carried over to the spring, and refunds will not be given. Likewise, December grads may not order caps and gowns in the spring.
